Shirley and her husband ranch in the scenic foothills west of Cochrane, Alberta. She has been painting landscapes, local wild flowers, portraits and the western way of life for close to forty years.

Shirley' collection of more than fifty books by great artists has allowed her to review, summarize and experiment leading to the development of her own personal approach and individual style of painting.
Over the years, Shirley has won several provincial awards as well as a Millennium Competition from the Department of Agriculture.
Shirley believes, "If I can portray to the viewer, even a touch of the emotion I felt in selecting the subject matter, I will feel I have succeeded."
